Baldera is one of the provinces of Southern Arun.
This area remained closed since game release. It was accessible via climbing mountains, but event that route was eventually blocked. It was only opened in patch 109 at the end of August 2021. Only small part of province is actually used, and there are large empty areas behind the mountains.
Initially Baldera was released as-it-is, pretty much in the same condition as it was left unfinished in circa 2011. Main problem is dull and static lighting that makes the whole main area look dull and washed. Area lacks any kind of light or fog or other effects. Details like vegetation are scarce. Open areas are divided into smaller areas with walls and gates (to cut down drawing distance). Also it didn't have any background music.

Area has quite interesting background story part of new quest line. Basically, the area was opened because of energies released due Exodor's Black Core explosion.
Explorers quickly found the abandoned city of Balderon. Also some human settlers arrived. But the area was not totally empty, but had a Shurian tribe who had lived there for centuries, guarding the long-lost Spring of Arun.
Initially you could occationally spot few Argon Mothership wbosses near Spring of Arun and in remote north-western corners. Argon corruption was soon added to Shurian Base area with patch 110 and Desolarus Testing Grounds dungeon. As of patch v112 Argon corruption has spread to near Spring of Arun in the middle of Baldera. This also added quest Second Argon Invasion. Reworked areas actually look very nice.
