Homunculus ConceptArt

The Homunculus were once part of a pet system in TERA: The Exiled Realm of Arborea and as of the official release, they have been removed.

Homunculus had potential of having a variety of uses, hinted in a way of hidden skills to be unlocked during the progression the game. However, the only available feature the Homunculus had before they were removed was to hold up a player shop to sell items.

The reason of their removed was due to Real Money Trading users abusing the potential of a bold logo in front of the center of attraction, capital cities, and has been proven to be distracting from the main way of trading items, Brokerage.

Types of Homunculus[]

There were four different types of Homunculus with their own unique features, but has no inherent special abilities to separate it from the rest. One could own as many Homunculi as such desire but can only summon one at a time. They were tradeable until bound to the character, which happens upon usability.

  • Tuwangi
  • Mewy
  • Pooky
  • Darling

Eggs[]

To get a Homunculus, one must first get an egg. The eggs can be bought from the Homunculus lab and comes in two different choices:

  • Homunculus Egg
  • Prized Homunculus Egg (higher change to hatch the Darling)

Upon obtaining an egg, a player will have to hatch the egg from an incubator. There is, however a the possibility that the egg will not hatch.

Hatching[]

Drop the egg in a Incubator socket and press 'Incubate'. Once the incubation is complete press 'Collect' to retrieve the item from the Incubator. The number of orbs your Homunculus can support is determined at hatching.

Imprinting[]

Even if the Homunculus is tradeable at hatching, once imprinted in the Homunculus Social Window it will become bound to the character.

Attaching Orbs[]

The Homunculus Labs offers 3 types of orbs:

  • Buy
  • Sell
  • Buy and Sell

The more actions the orb offers the higher its value. Attaching an orb to the Homunculus has its risks, since they have a chance to break upon attachment. A higher-grade orb will automatically replace a lower-grade orb of the same kind. The player may attach as many orbs as the Homunculus has open orb-slots for but it will only be able to use one orb at the time.

Orbs can only be bought from the merchant located in the Homunculus Lab.

Repairing[]

A player must repair the Homunculus before its durability hits ‘zero’. If the player lets the Homunculus die, all items on the Homunculus will be destroyed, along with the Homunculus itself. Repairing the Homunculus happens through the Homunculus Social Window.

Closing[]

You may close your shop through the shop interface. Once open, there will be a new button that reads 'Shut Down'. Shutting down will move all the remaining items in your inventory.

Ranking[]

Each Homunculus has a rank, this rank determines the Homunculus' durability. A higher ranked Homunculus will have a longer durability. The player's incubation skill level determines the rank of the Homunculus, therefor it is recommended to increase this skill.
