Player versus Player, or PvP, is a type of multiplayer interactive conflict within a game between two or more players. This is in contrast to games where players compete against computer controlled opponents, which is correspondingly referred to as player versus environment (PvE). The terms are most often used in games where both activities exist, particularly MMORPGs, CORPGs, MUDs and other role-playing video games.

Various forms of PVP in TERA include duels (1 vs. 1) and mass PVP like Battlegrounds, deathmatches between raids, Guild versus Guild (GvG) battles and Civil Unrest. If you're interested in duels visit Arena in Velika Outskirts outside Velika North Gate.

On PVP servers it's possible to use skill Outlaw Declaration and attack other people outside safe zones. Outlaw Declaration was restricted to level 65 characters sometimes after Valkyrie release (around May 2017). Also safe zones have been extended to include almost all area where people do dailies or level (doesn't include areas past level 65).

Note that in GvG only safe area is Velika (and guild Skycastle) and it's possible to kill people ie. in Highwatch.

PVP gear[]

As of spring 2020 latest PVP gear is Disciplinary, Harmonic, Impregnable set (from January 2019). Newer Exodor gear gloves and boots are actually better than PVP set and recommended.

PVP gear is bought from Bellicarium with credits you earn in Battlegrounds. See notes about gear in article Shore Hold.
